Plus, they have the most adorable, well-trained shop dog you’ll ever meet. Shopping here is actually a pleasure.

The staff here are unbelievably helpful. They spent a good amount of time with us figuring out the best way to secure an air conditioner unit in an old rickery window. Going out of your way to think creatively for what was about a $4 sale is service that makes you realize that small neighborhood stores are both functional and social places to treasure. Thank you!

Best hardware store in the city hands down. The guys working here are super helpful and the shop has much more in stock than you’d expect. Always go here in lieu of the big box places.

5/5 stars. Seriously such good employees it’s worth noting! Loved this. - The place is helpfully overstaffed and delightfully full of everything you’ll need. Not a massive focus on power tools, but for 90% of stuff you’ll be covered. Contractors can go elsewhere for bulk/larger stuff. Lots of adhesives, drill bits and sockets, paint, plumbing, odds/ends - perfect for home repair!

Great local hardware store - very knowledgeable & friendly. I do handyman work in the area and they are my go to place for everything from plumbing, electrical, painting, and miscellaneous needs. Highly recommend - love these guys!!!

The store is highly organized and offers a surprisingly wide array of items for its size. What truly distinguishes it, however, is its staff. They are knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful. Walking in with a problem, they’ll help you think through the best solution. Often, the advice alone makes the trip worthwhile, with the purchase being a bonus. In an age where almost everything can be ordered instantly online, places like this still play an essential role. Some issues require judgment and experience, not just a quick online search. The team here clearly knows their craft and is happy to share their expertise. What I especially value is their honesty. They never try to pressure you into buying unnecessary items. If they don’t carry what you need, they’ll tell you and often point you toward where to find it. Such confidence and integrity are rare. While large stores like Home Depot have vast inventories, for smaller or specialized items, especially related to older Center City homes, this store is often the better choice. Prices are fair, and the quality of guidance enhances the overall value. It's evident that this store is run with pride, care, and years of expertise. It has genuine character, and I hope the neighborhood appreciates it as much as I do. I’m always impressed when I visit. Thank you!

I stopped in to Rittenhouse hardware while i was out for a walk just to get an outlet cover. The staff always super friendly and helpful. At checkout I didn’t have $1 that the outlet cover cost so the cashier just said to take it and bring back the $1 another time. Will definitely be coming back here for any hardware needs.
